We are looking for a part-time preschool classroom Assistant/Substitute Teacher for Friday, full day (9:00 AM - 5:00 PM). Additional hour substitutions to accommodate staff vacations will be needed from time to time. The candidate must value young children and education. Passion, enthusiasm, work ethic, and hands-on abilities are key.

Part-Time Preschool Assistant/Substitute Teacher

Hours:
Friday - 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM (Required)
Additional time as needed to substitute

Lunch:
Lunch is included and served at school

Compensation:
Based on education and experience

Holidays/Vacation:
6 months of minimum full-time work is needed to be eligible for paid holiday/vacation time.

Staff - Child Ratio: Max 1:6

Responsibilities:
* Interact with children, parents, and visitors
* Ensure health, safety, and positive engagement of children, indoors or outdoors
* Ensure school cleanliness and maintenance, especially post-meals, restroom usage, and cleanup routines
* Ensure and model strong hygiene and positive guidance behavior
* Adhere to and enforce classroom policies and procedures
* Help toddlers in potty training. Diaper/pull-up cleanups are needed.
* Daily consistency in energy and availability for work

Requirements:
* Up-to-date immunizations are required - TB Screening Test clearance in the last year, vaccinations for Influenza, TDAP, MMR, Chickenpox, and Polio clearance needed before start
* Some experience working with kids 1 year to 5 years of age is desirable, but not required.
* Live scan (FBI/DOJ/CACI fingerprint) clearance required before start
* Active person with the physical ability to pick children, movement, and being on their feet for long periods, outdoor walks and runs, squatting, kneeling, and being at a child's level or on the floor multiple times during the day.
* 6-12 core ECE units desired but not required to start
* Bilingual speakers with a strong command of English and another language are desired
* Experienced candidates with Friday availability seeking additional work hours with an interest in a consistent, stable, and personal work environment are being sought since the role is long-term. Students in local colleges 18 years and above, especially interested in preschool education, are also eligible to apply to gain hands-on experience. A commitment for an academic year is needed minimally since this is not a short-term role.
