Nowruz Mubarak!

It turns out the Persian New Year called Nowruz is today and not tomorrow as Google led Teacher Vrinda to believe. Our best wishes of a happy, healthy and joyful new year to Mackenzie and the Abrari family from all of us here at Avid Kids Circle. The festival is certainly interesting for Teacher Vrinda who being a Kashmiri relates to Nowruz. Kashmiris also celebrate Nowruz as the start of a new year. The traditions are similar to the Persian New Year. Interestingly while we share the festival name, the festival date according to the Hindu Lunar calendar falls at a different time towards the end of March/April. Parsi/Zoroastrian community from India also share a Persian ancestry, celebrate Nowruz as the New Year but their calendar places the festival in August. Talk about unity and diversity :) We will enjoy a relaxing day tomorrow with colors, food and festival spirit. It is also Holi tomorrow, the Indian festival of colors and spring. Until tomorrow!
