Year of the Pig

February 6, 2019

A very happy Chinese New Year to all of you especially the Lu family! Today marks the first day of this new year of the pig. We will participate with our own cleaning, eating and other activities in the classroom to mark the start of this new year.

In the high school that Teacher Vrinda’s kids are at, Lunar New Year is celebrated in a big way with multi-cultural Asian foods, music and dance performances especially the Lion Dance by the Asian Club. Teacher Vrinda will need to leave earlier between 4:30-5:00 pm on Friday since she chairs the Indian food and performance group.

Do enjoy some Chinese food this week to celebrate along. Redwood City hosts a Chinese New Year parade at the RWC Courhouse Square in the Theater area. This year Chinese New Year is being celebrated on this Saturday, Feb 9th at RWC (https://g.co/kgs/unkAPV)

Cheers to the Lunar New Year!

Until tomorrow.
